Fridays on Saturday
|
The crowd met up again on February 24, 2007, this time at Fridays, and
after a brief bit of confusion concerning the table arrangements, we settled
in to an evening of reminiscing and helium-sucking. It was great to see:
-
Stan "the Man" Bienko
-
"Sassy" Cassie Bright
-
Brian Byczynski
-
Tim Getzen
-
Robin (Eby) Leininger
-
Clay "The Documentarian" Niemeyer
-
Abel "I'm Retiring Soon" Sanchez
-
Kim "Still Cute after all these Years" (Puppos) Warring
After a brief stop in Cassie's parking lot (and I mean that literally), we
headed off to
Club
Frogtown, for some live music and choice lap-dancing. When the life squad
showed up, we were relieved to find it was not related to our party. Geez,
we're not that old yet... |

DeVilbiss High School 1980-1989 Class Reunion
(2005)
|
A really cool amount of effort was put into this by Kim (Townsend) Hibbett,
Mike Barringer, Kim (Drake) Highsmith, Jan (LaBiche) Darrington, and
representatives from other classes. Held August 20, 2005 at the Zenobia Shrine
Center in downtown, the event was dominated by the class of 83. Highlights
included a touching memorial to our classmates who have passed on (there
were way too many), with drinks and snacks, and then Tony Tuggle broke
it down like it was 1983 all over again. Number one on the agenda was
the chance to touch base with so many people and briefly relive those times.
Check out the handful of
pictures I took.
There is a planned repeat in 2007, so stay tuned. |

Spring Break 2004
|
Okay, so it wasn't really spring break, just dinner and drinks, but at
least an opportunity to get out of the house and relive all the joy and carefree
laughter. The group met on Saturday, 22 May 2004 for dinner at
Damons, then drinks
afterward at
SodBusters. In
attendance were:
-
Brian Byczynski
-
Tim Getzen
-
Robin (Eby) Leininger
-
Rhonda (Brenneman) Murphy
-
Abel Sanchez
-
Kim (Puppos) Warring

The Official Unofficial Twentieth Reunion
|
In lieu of an Official reunion, the class of '83 met up at
Mancy's
Italian, on 13 September 2003, for pizza, beverages, and plenty of catching
up. In attendance were:
-
Amy Brigman
-
Brian Byczynski
-
Tim Getzen
-
Jody Kidder
-
Robin (Eby) Leininger
-
Rhonda (Brenneman) Murphy
-
Clay Niemeyer
-
Gregg Ross
-
Abel Sanchez
-
Kim (Puppos) Warring
-
Cassie (Bright) Webb
After dinner, the party moved to Avenue Bistro, in search of
Kelly Beckham, who was MIA from
the party. Special thanks to the musical act, for performing a special rendition
of our favorite disco
(!) songs, to take us back to the day. Okay, so the timing was off by a few
years, but the dance floor was hoppin'!
After that, we cruised to
Club
Frogtown, for pool and suds, before the diehards headed back home for
the night. It was nothing compared to the 10-year post-party, but that was
a different story altogether...
Nice job Robin and Kim for organizing. You guys rock! |

DeVilbiss High School Tour 2003
|
Through the efforts of Dave Stout ('60) and the
DeVilbiss Alumni
Association, the building was opened on August 2, 2003. In attendance
from the class of '83 were Brian Byczynski and Clay Niemeyer, who bumped
into Robin (Eby) Leininger and Tracy (Solly) Shambarger. The discussion kind
of went like this:
-
Hey, what's going on for the 20th reunion?
-
I dunno.
-
I dunno.
-
Let's gather a bunch of people and go out for dinner in a couple weeks.
-
Cool!
As for the walkthrough itself, the building brought back a lot of memories.
After being shut down for years, there was an accumulation of junk in some
areas, whereas others looked like they hadn't changed a whit since 1983.
It seems like yesterday that we were wandering those halls...
If you wanna see it for yourself, show up this year, for the
DeVilbiss High School Tour 2004.
